1st time charge pipe popped off

2009 135i 174k miles

Good evening,

Tonight I was driving a little rowdy & went to pass another car. Heard a loud bang then no power/boost. Got home & noticed the charge pipe popped off towards the front of the car. I only spent 30 seconds looking at it. To me it seems like there is a gap between the charge pipe & the rubber hose. Please advise what will be the easiest way for me a novice to get the pipe clamped back to the rubber hose correctly? It just seems like the pipe & the hose are too far apart.

Thank you,
b

Loosen the clamp, pull them together (they should have plenty of movement), and then retighten the clamp. Would you happen to have a picture?

When I installed Cobb on mine the first shake down run mine popped off with a loud bang. Though it just was pushed off by the excessive pressure but upon closer inspection it blew off a chuck of plastic off the back side of the pipe. Check yours to verify it’s not cracked or damaged. Also, if it blew off once it likely will do it again. I got an aftermarket charge pipe about 2 years ago and no worries since.

Looks like you can just reconnect it like I described above, it just popped off.

Thank you. Charge pipe is back on. I wasn’t able to go out & get rowdy due to the wet roads. I’ll rip it tomorrow and make sure all is good. Last night I was trying to pull up on the charge pipe however I really had to push down to get the proper fit.

Thank you again,
b
