Is anyone biting on these sales?
Just curious if anyone is actually having luck selling there 128/135? I see quite a few posted here. Seems like it'd be pretty tough to get someone to drop 35-40k these days. Has anyone actually been able to sell there new 1 series over the past month or two?

The issue I see is the asking price in some of these for sale threads. Why would I buy a used car for $38k when I can have one built exactly the way I want it in the color I want for only $2k more. Plus if you buy new you get a much better interest rate.

Short answer: No
I can't sell mine. I think it's mostly the economy but maybe it's just not easy to sell a $30K+ used car. 99% of people don't have that kind of cash and it's easier to walk into a dealer and get financing then get a loan and then buy a used car from a private party. Oh well.

Agreed. There have been some cars on here that I've noticed that have sold, and they've all been good deals. I think the silver one in Idaho is a great deal, but I'd rather have white than silver. If it's still for sale when i get back from my honeymoon, might have to seriously consider purchasing it. |

just took the loss on a 2009 wrx with 4,000 miles
by giving it to carmax - $19,000 (m.s.r.p. 28k). some of the 2009 wrx's are throwing rods, and news travels fast, so that may not have helped with its value. (dealers offered even less). |

You gave up the 2009 WRX? Are you sure it wasn't the 2008? The 09 has 265hp and is a bargain.

yes, i am sure that i bought a 2009 wrx in october 2008, convinced by
the upgraded turbo, exhaust, catalyst, and revised suspension (better tires and larger sways front and rear). problems are outlined in the nasioc forum under "2009 wrx motor issues". part of the problem i had with the trade-in was this cars reputation as a performance car that gets modified and driven too hard. |

I can't give away my 08 sti because of the deals the dealerships were offering. I didn't think $29500 (I paid $39500) was a bad asking price for it with two sets of bbs wheels. I am contemplating picking up a 1er when it sells.

Nope
I haven't sold it. I've had so many people make me offers over email, some were okay. Not a single person has come out to actually look at the car. I'm fine with it. I'm going to just keep it and enjoy. It's not worth dealing with the sales process to me.

I am upside down in mine. I want to get back into an Evo. Oh well, economy sucks. Hunker down, pay more off, hope to get rightside up and sell.
I hate that I can't be happy with the same car. |
