Switching from 328i to 135i
Hi everyone I'm new to this forum! I have been thinking of selling my 328i & getting a 135i. How is the drive on it? Does the seating feel small in the car? Also, I have 19x8.5 & 19x10 rims from my 3, would it fit the 135?
Thanxs in advance! |

compared to a 3 series the ride is a little less refined with greatly improved handling. the trade off is well worth it though! (its by NO means "uncomfortable")
the seating is smaller than a 3 series but it feels sporty not small. im 6'2, 170 lbs and it fits me perfect! it really gives off the feeling of being more connected to the car and no those rims probably wont work, i havent heard of anyone running 19x10's in the rear what are the offsets? (welcome to 1addicts!!!!:thumbup |

Here are the offsets on my wheels:
19x8.5 35mm offset for the front. (2 inch lip) 19x10 35mm offset for the rear. (4.5 inch lip Oh it must be comfortable if your 6'2 & loving the car! I'm only 5'0 so I guess it would be roomy for me! Thanks for all your quick replies! |

the only downside about the 1er is that it doesnt have the clearance for aggresive sizes or offsets |

I'm 6'7" and 250 and the 135 is comfortable. The headroom is very close, but everything else is PERFECT. The car feels more tossable than a 3er, imo. The brakes on the 335 are good, but feel even better on the 135. I agree with people that say you just need to go for a test drive, even if it's not with your preferred transmission.

I test drove in Automatic, and knew that I was going to buy one before we got back to the dealer. (and I hate autos, ordered in manual without ever driving it with a clutch)

Yea I will definitely test drive one! I have a standard now, it's fun to drive, but sometimes I wish I had an auto.

Wow--about a year ago, this is exactly what I did--went from an 07 E92 328i to the 08 135i.
The 135 def feels smaller, but in a good way. The car feels easier to move around corners, and this is really noticeable in traffic. I loved my E92, but it always felt a bit big and heavy to me. It was a really fun car to drive-- but also seemed to be missing that "wow" factor. I found those things in the 135. It is much quicker, and feels lighter (more so than the ~200 lb difference, probably due to the shorter wheelbase). The E92 was prettier IMO, and def got more looks from people. But the 135 is much more fun to drive. Just got to decide what is more important to you.
