Do you get a rear armrest with the ski bag?
I know that you only get the passthrough if you get the ski bag, but I wonder if you get a rear armrest with the passthrough. On the 5 wagon, for example, there is an armrest but in the 1 vert the center piece comes open and just kind of lies there, no armrest.
Also, if there is an armrest, can you get cup holders in it? |

It's just a pop out upholstered flap, that flops down over the rear seat bins between the seats. It's not a true fold down arm rest. (it's definitely a cost cutter, and it's far from being able accommodate cup holders)

There is a cup holder module on the BMW Deutschland accessory site that snaps into place if you remove the ski bag. No pricing info though. Looks very similar to the one for the 3er on BMWUSA. May be interchangeable??
Here's the link for the US version: http://accessories.bmwusa.com/ItemVi...&productId=603 Maybe someone can confirm? Somewhat OT the US site also has this: http://accessories.bmwusa.com/ItemVi...&productId=511 |

I don't believe either of those will do you any good, Take a look at pics of that feeble attempt at an armrest on the 1 coupe.

From what I can tell this is supposed to be part number 72 60 0 153 336, fits E81, E82, E87; E60, E61; E90, E91, E92; X3 if equipped with options SA464, SA468 or SA465.:iono: I may well be wrong, just going by what I was reading.

Thanks very, very much to everyone who answered. I'd been thinking of getting the ski bag retro-fitted (having failed to order it by mistake) in order to get the armrest. I still wish I had ordered the passthrough, but not enough to spend a couple of thousand dollars to retrofit it!

What?@? So the ONLY way I can get a passthrough is if I order the "Cold Weather" package? This package is $600 for the heated seats and the ski bag. But I don't want the ski bag...I already have tons of them to carry my skiis with. If I just do the heated seats for $500, I save $100. But are you telling me that "there's no hole" between the seats if I don't get the Cold Weather package?

Yeah, it's pretty pathetic that my 1998 318i, which had the same amount of space in the rear as my 1, had a nice, full fledged, pull-down arn rest in the center while the 1 has nothing even similar. It was at least a bone to throw to the rear prisoners, I mean passengers.
