I guess I'm lucky!
I hate reading all of the threads here about the 1-series having various flaws, defects, and damage on arrival, I guess I'm just lucky that my car has been perfect *knock on wood*.
For starters, my fuel pump has not failed leather seats don't sag, and are nice and tight headlights do not have moisture within the lens my iPod doesn't kill the battery all electric components work without issue center brake light is not cracked off my key doesn't fall out of the dashboard while driving my mirrors are not cracked my window motors work great my sunroof doesn't make rattling noises Not to brag, but after 5 months the car still looks brand new, and everything works perfectly. Anyone else problem-free? |

Mine has been good so far after 6500 miles. It must be a a 128i thing... (in all seriousness, the fuel pump issue is only for the turbo'ed 135i which has a different high pressure fuel pump, I think).
The only this I have noticed is the little bump in the passenger seat near the seat/back intersection, which I think has been discussed elsewhere... I guess I also had the windows freeze up once and not tick and down properly when the doors were opened/closed... but only once. Mostly smiles though.

Very solid car as my Z4 was. BMW quality why ask?
Can you check you manufacturing date? Is it May 08? It is important how stars were located when a car or a human was born. Oh, just forgot to ask, is LED hand lamp in your glove compartment? Check also your fuel pump, it should fail after 6,000 miles.

problems......
I have a little over 8,000 mi. since May 15, and mine is completely problem free. Looks better than new the way I keep up on detailing it. I guess BMW quality is as good as they say. I had a new '91 E30 318is, and that thing had 3 recalls during the three years I owned it, and got a couple more recall notices after I had traded it in. This 135i is a keeper..............

128i 'vert built on April 1 - 7 mos. and 13,000 miles (avg. 27.5 mpg). Absolutely no problems except that I lost one of the tire valve caps - replaced for 30 cents.
As this is the first of roughly 15 new cars I've purchased over the years which did not require a trip to the dealer for any warranty work or adjustments, I'm very impressed with the quality. Tom |

The 128i doesn't have a high pressure pump. It's a good thing that your car is running like a champ though!

8 months and over 5,000 miles. The only problems I've had were when I installed a DDV and didn't get it tight enough, but that's certainly not the fault of BMW.
Well there was a buzz/rattle initially coming from somewhere in the back seats. It seemed to go away after I fiddled with the seat belts and some other stuff. |

6 1/2 months and 9800kms and I have had only one problem. One of the rear defrost lines was not working. Unfortunately, in order to fix the problem they needed to replace the entire top so $5k later on BMW's dime I have a brand new roof.
That is a typical warranty replacement as it is a manufacturing defect. It was a problem but I was happy with how they dealt with it other than that they didn't wash my car after having it for 3 days.

<Knock on wood>
Just over 6k miles and aside from all the rattles I'm problem free. Being stock probably helps.
