1'ers are still a rarity in the US.

Even living in the Bimmerland of the SF Bay Area, I've only seen a few 1'ers on the road in the last 6 months.

I live in Orange County and I've only seen 1 other coupe on the road. I have seen 2 convertibles. That's it!

It was the same when I had my modified E46 coupe though... I barely ever saw other modified BMW's on the road, even though I knew there were tons out there (based on the sales we do here for parts to local guys). There's just a ton of people and the enthusiasts with 135's are sprinkled inbetween the masses.

I have mine since May 15. I have seen only one in all that time. I work near an off ramp next to I-95 in Northeast Central Florida(20 minutes north of Daytona Beach). The guy pulled into a Citgo across the street. It was a Silver 135i. As it was off the interstate, probably just passing through. I am the only "1" in the Daytona area-St. Augustine area as far as I know. The only other drivers on the road that stare me down as I'm driving are owners of other Bimmers. I can see their eyes from a little way away, and as they pass they have no idea what I'm driving. As I've written before, I think the 135i looks like a cross of M3(front end) and Z4(side view). In any case they are baffled. For just under $40k, I have a car that is seen less on the roads than any Mercedes, Porsches, hell anything else. With 306hp/300 lbs. ft and exclusivitiy to boot, I have a great car!!!! And that doesn't even include the smile on my face every time I push the start button after 8 months. Priceless!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Belgium sells more BMW's per capita than any country except Germany and I still never see 1er coupes. Millions of hatches and a few convertibles but the coupes are really rare. I know they exist because I have met some other 1Addicts members but I think we have the only ones

Unfortunately the dealer has some they can't move. They have one on the lot...a fully optioned 135 convertible, Sticker price right around $50k. Sorry, but who is gonna drop fifty large on a 1er convertible in a down economy? Me thinks they will have that one on their lot for a long time!
