Hello from yet another newbie
Hi All,
New to the forum and to BMW. Recently purchased an '11 135i coupe to replace my Audi TT Quattro Coupe. The Audi served as my daily commuter for 7 years, fun little car but it was time to move on. The specs on the car are pretty much perfect for me. Only missing option I would have liked is the hi-fi sound system. But what really drew me to the car is the color combo - Deep Sea Blue over Terracotta Boston leather. 37k original miles, had a PPI performed by BMW Sudbury (MA) and it passed with flying colors - regular maintenance and no warranty repairs. Open recall for the VANOS bolts, I'll schedule that when the time comes for service. Anyway, just wanted to say hello and share a couple of pics. Look forward to contributing to the forum in any way I can. Best to you! Ken |

Welcome
but maybe you picked the wrong time to move from Quattro to RWD; isn't Boston buried in snow? Anyways, what everyone will tell you is to get premium snow tires on separate rims. Get free catalogue from Bavarian Autosport in Portsmouth and come to their Show & Shine early October. BMW's have tons of very good DIY's including many videos. Speaking as one who has 2 Audis (TT & A4) and 2 BMWs (325iX & 128) both BMW & Audi are great cars.

I did get a set of Michelin Alpins mounted on winter wheels, and while they've been fine, there's nothing like Quattro in the snow. Cheers |

Welcome. We are clearly all nuts about out 1-series cars and I have little doubt you will be too.
There is a wealth of knowledge and experience here if you have questions about...anything 1er-related. And many contentious opinions too (don't ask about MT vs AT or flash tune vs. piggyback, unless you LIKE throwing gas on wildfires). But at the end of the day, this is a great place to share your thoughts and questions on our cars. Just learn the search tool, lest you get flamed for a newbie question that has been beaten to death. All that said, welcome to the family. Enjoy your car.
