Just looking for opions and suggestions on which wheel to get for winter wheels. Below are few I chose off tirerack.
Also if you have a preferred tire that is best for winter driving in new england.

Your third picture is what I'll be getting.

Sport Edition KM11. My snows will be 225/45-17 Blizzak LM25.

Here are few that I am considering (mostly replica wheels), but tirerack doesn't have most of the them (they are from my other thread). I think most of these look better (and are a bit more expensive at $600-800 per set), but I have not heard back about the offsets to make sure they fit.

As far as tires go, I think the Dunlop 3D's are supposed to be good for a performance winter, Blizzak WS60 for a more true winter, or if you want to spend a bit more Nokian winter tires are generally very good, though not available from tirerack.

here are the ASA AR2's:

I also like these Borbet wheels from tirerack:

You know, that was the route I was first goiing to go, but the more I looked at wheels, the less satisfied I was with the inexpensive options. What you may want to consider instead is to use the stock wheels for winter and then buy nicer rims in the spring for the good weather. That will give you several months to save up some extra money and do it right - plus more manufacturers will have come out with 1-sized wheels. Doesn't this care deserve the best?

I had thought of that but trying to put winter tires on 18's makes for a very low profile winter tire. I want something that will be safe and secure like a true winter tire is.

Go with a 17's for Winter. You can then get either 225's or 205's and they are much cheaper w/more options than an 18 inch wheel.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Guess i have a few more months so hopefully they come out with more wheel options by then.

For winter, I went with 17" Sport Edition KM-11s from Tire Rack.

They look clean and simple and they show off the brakes. Also easier to clean without so many intricate spokes.

Already ordered 2 of them with drag radials and will order the other two before winter. They look great and are cheap. I'll post pics up when I get them this week.

I'm going to be running these also. Agreed about their ease in cleaning and I like that they take the BMW OEM center caps.

Yes, plenty of 16" wheels fit on the 128i sport. We will carry over 10 of them for winter fitments.

The wheels both fit so it boils down to which you like better. As far as tires go, the blizzaks give you better snow/ice traction while the Pirelli will handle better on dry roads with its stiffer sidewall.

Perhpas not if you can't get proper snow tires which so far still aren't available in the stock 18" sizes. I'm hoping new options will soon be available.
