Front 255/35x19 PSS & Revised arch liners DO FIT!

Finally got round to refitting my OE 19" 1M wheels fitted with a new set of Michelin Pilot Super Sports after a brief affair with a set of sexy 19" BBS CH-R....

I'm not a fan of the OE 'stretch look' tyre sizes on the OE wheels so wanted to go 10mm wider on the front and rear when upgrading to the Pilot Super Sports. After reading lots of other posts on here regarding front arch clearance issues when using the slightly wider 255/35x19 I decided to bite the bullet and ordered 255/35x19 for the front and 275/35x19 rears. I can now confirm that these sizes when fitted with the revised BMW front arch liners fit great and have no clearance issues at all. My car is also lowered using Eibach springs.

The wider tyres look right on the rims taking away the vw'esque 'stretch' look and should offer greater rim protection if one ever strays close to a kerb! So far the PSS are very impressive feeling more comfortable and in my opinion so far quieter than the PS2. Outright grip is far superior which you would expect from the latest generation tyre construction / compound against the elderly PS2 design.

So for absolute clarity with the revised front BMW arch liners fitted you can fit 255/35x19 Pilot Super Sports without any rubbing issues on a car fitted with Eibach lowering springs.

Nice,

My concern still is the front end clearance of the strut/spring of my coilovers, stock sizing there is not alot of clearance to spare.

You should be fine Aussie. The KW kit doesn't reduce clearance to the tyre in anyway - if you look at the space between tyre and OE strut it still looks very close.

Will 255/35-19 fronts and 275/35-19 rears fit without rubbing if the car isn't lowered?

This has been posted a few times before in other threads; they say yes, it won't rub on a totally stock car with revised fenders. This is eventually what I'll do too.

I'm running 265/35 on the front with KWv3's lowered with no rubbing so I can't see why 255's would even come close.
