Spare tire after dumping run-flats

I'm thinking of dumping my run flat tires and would like to know what others are doing about a spare after doing this.

Is there a donut or temporary spare available that will fit the E90 330i? I'm looking for something that takes up as little room as possible. Also what about a jack (is there a BMW one available that fits in the "correct" place under the car)? I also want a lug wrench.

Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

That is a little expensive for the Jack Kit, but probably worth it to have the right tools. It can probably be had elsewhere for less.

What about the spare? Anyone have any idea where to get a temp wheel or donut that fits?

The jack is the easy part.....It's the spare dounut/tire setup that's the problem!

I'm beginning to think you're right. I've called a few dealers and they all say the E46 donut does not fit the E90. So, basically we're screwed...

However, I did find this:
http://www.circlebmw.com/parts/acc/36110397168.htm

I'm going to put one of my factory 17s in it and just leave it in the trunk. It's not ideal, but I can easily remove it and take my chances when I need the space. It also means that I don't have the extra expense of buying the donut.

Together with the jack set, I think it will be good enough...

I think I have a solution. I am not a fan, nor am I against runflats. they serve their purpose, and the car is set up for runflats. So, I would just stick with them for now and wait to see the runflats that michelin have developed. If all else fails, if it aint broke, dont fix it.

agreed. Why are people so intent upon dumping the runflats? Why do they offend you so... are they as irritating as the visor sticker?

If I were staying on 17s, I'd agree but I'm going to 19s and I don't believe there is a run-flat tire in a 235/35/19 configuration. But thank you for your helpful input.

I think people are interested in dumping the RFT's because they are a lot more expensive than non-RFT's... Also, they dont seem to last for long?

Maybe a someting like a 15mm spacer could be used with a donut wheel to get the clearance from the brakes? Anybody want to try?

Pirelli makes a 225/35R19 and a 255/30R19.

While you're correct in saying that there is no RFT in that size, there is still a 19" RFT (the eurforia from Pirelli). This is the tyre on the 19" BMW Type 199 wheel.

I was simply putting it out there as a possible option. However, it seems you're set on the 235/35 sizing.

In case you're interested (maybe you're not, but I'll say it anyway), there is a 17" emergency wheel available for the E60 (4BX17 ET:18). I don't if it will fit, but it too may be an option.

Regardless, I thank you for you pointing out that the reasoning behind my earlier post was perhaps not as clear as it could have been.

I've been looking into 19" rims lately and noticed this post about pirelli RFT. I was looking on Tire Rack but can't seem to find the sizes you mention. The only ones that are listed are close but they're too big in general. The closest one is about 5% larger than stock diameter which would throw off the speedo even more than it already is. Any help would be appreciated.
