Driverīs seat too low for me, how can it be rised?
The E90 driverīs seat is too low for me. Due to polio it is hard for me to rise out of the E90 seat.
I wonder if a upholsterer could make a removable custom cushion filling up the space between the two lateral supports of the seat. Would it be safe? What about submarining? Any ideas? |

Do you have the power seat? If so, is the full height position still too low?
I'm sure you could put a nice thick pad on the seat.

If you have power seats, there are two buttons that are used to adjust seat position and height. The two buttons actually look like a seat when viewed straight on. So, you want to push up on the middle of the bottom button. I am 5'10" and when I push up on that same button in that spot and let it max out, my head is nearly touching the ceiling. The other thing you can do is to push up on the front side of the bottom button, this will tilt your seat forward or back. If you are having trouble getting your feet out of the car, you can use this to tilt the seat back to gain a better angle to just slide your feet out of the vehicle.
Hope this helps. |

If you have sport manual seats, their is lever to adjust height of seat. Regular manual seats do not have this.

My bad! That's right, the regular manual seets don't have the ROCKING lever, but they do have the height adjust one. Sorry!

I have the opposite problem. I am not a tall guy really (5'11"), but I have my seat (power) in the lowest position and still my hair brushes against the roof, which I hate

Many thanks to all of you.
My problem is not the driving position. My problem is the seat to ground heigth -street, road, pavement-. It is too low for me to STAND UP when going out of the car. I have not bought the car yet. I donīt know if the electrically adjustable seat goes higher than the manual one. |

You definately want the power seats. If that is going to be a real concern for you, are you sure you want to buy a low car like the E90? Have you considered an X3 or something with more "chair like" seating?

The Xi version rides a little higher. I agree with LedZep. I'd consider an X3 or X5 unless you're stuck on getting an e90.

Thanks to all. The X3, X5 are way too HIGH for me.
Iīm getting in touch with a reputable car uphosterer here. Hope he can help me. I will tell you. Iīm interested in the 325i because of its Active Steering and sensitive brake pedal. |
