Mike, one question! This is the final product or test version? Asking because I'm in Europe and need plug and play product without online updates or something(I'm not familiar with something like this. Thanks!

The hardware is finalized but there will be software updates, as all BMS products usually have updates every few months. Its comes with a USB cable (FREE) so you have everything you need to stay current.

Have there been any updates so far to the N55 JB3 since the first ones went out, and if so, where do we go to download?

There hasn't been an update in the last month or two. When did you get yours?

I got mine back in September. I'm guessing there was an update then?

There was only a cold weather update and only for those experiencing problems. No general update for now.

Bump for the N55. Super easy to install (10-15min) and gives you a great boost in performance and drivability!

I haven't installed yet due to being out of the country but looking at this post after the fact, maybe I ordered the wrong N55 tune...the instruction PDF online at Burger Motorsports says to remove a bunch of things in my engine compartment...removing the different parts and ECU cover doesn't look like 10-15 minutes...is the wiring bundle I received and the part being sold in this post the same?

If so, there wasn't a USB cable with this order...isn't that for easier upgrades versus removing the controller box to update? Do i need to order a USB cable?

For the first-timer putting the N55 JB3 in is not a 10-15min task, more like 30+ minutes. There's not a lot of things to plug in (basically 4 connectors) but taking off the shroud and getting familiar with where those connectors are and how to best unplug them takes some time (use a flashlight). The biggest PITA is getting the ECU box cover off and back on because of the f'd up latch clip design. Once you know where everythinbg is you can do it much more quickly.

Removing is something you have to do for every dealership visit?

Or have you left it on?

How much of a difference do you feel?

thanks, Rick

The peripheral stuff should be 5min to remove. Of course looking for the sensors the first time can take some time, but you are only doing 5-10 min of actual work

Mike,

I just picked up a 2011 135 N55. Do I need to put on some miles before grabbing the JB3? Also is it possible for me to come to you guys and install it there?

installed my N55 JB3

Install wasn't so bad. I didn't stick it inside the ECU, rather ziptied it to the car for easier access and removability.

Still playing with it. Midrange throttle is way stronger and it feels much faster to 100. You definitely hear more turbo whoosh and blowoff.

Takeoff from a standing still is still a bit sluggish...haven't taken it to dyno yet but that's very near in my future.

Mike....could you send me the USB cable as it was not in the box and one or two of the Burger Motorsports stickers....thanks.

Shoot me a PM..

You can put it right on. You have the newer software so thats great as the tune really loves the new BMW software.
