Ironically..you don't want to make friends...but people don't generally share useful information with their enemies or people they don't like.
You get much further in life asking for things with a smile and being nice to people than you do with a snarl and demanding things. I really hope they ban you again, your attitude and insults to people really brings a bad light on this forum. |

You shouldn't get mad when people try to offer information they know, especially when you asked for it... just because you don't like the answers they give. Perhaps you should do some real research instead of being lazy and discrediting others based off of your feelings and assumptions on a subject. A good place to start would be that book I suggested earlier: Corky Bell's "Maximum Boost."

I didnt insult anyone, i stated a fact about the community here, too bad if you think I was directing that at you... maybe it suits you?
If you read the first post and how I started this thread you will see there was nothing wrong with it. There was nothing wrong with the posts until ignorant people try to post up about tuning when they havent the obvious clue about what they are referng too. Ignorance begets ignorance around here. You cant fix stupid, as is evident here. So im resigned to emailing people with legitimate knowledge of the car instead of hoping to get educated answers from uneducated owners who frequent this forum. Have a great time in ignorance people, hope it finds you well. |

Daniel135i, please explain to me how you believe one can simply alter boost and have the ECU not notice? Upping the boost will increase the CFM flowing past the MAF. The ECU will see that and the increased overall boost pressure and drop boost accordingly. Push it too far and the ECU will trigger limp mode from seeing overboost conditions. The ECU has expected boost values for certain throttle, load, temp, etc. If the actual boost varies too much from the requested boost, the ECU will take measures to lower the boost. It's plain and simple, unless you alter the ECU in some way (either via a retune or a piggyback ECU), you're not going to be able to change boost in any appreciable manner.
If you'll re-read your original question, you'll see that what you originally asked was whether or not someone has "…pumped up the stock boost to really test the mettle of the N55s holding strength[.]" That question seems to be asking whether or not someone has turned up the boost on an otherwise stock N55 to the point of the engine blowing up. Kind of a dumb question, if you ask me. But what do I know, I'm just a "dumb f**k" like the rest of 'em, right? By the way, since you're clearly well-versed in the art of being a keyboard jockey, please show us the credentials that you seem to be drawing your vast knowledge of turbocharged cars from. |

I NEVER said the ecu will not notice the boost... All of you, stop putting words into what I am asking. It was simple, what can you get out of the N55 without getting lean... its that simple. If the ECU denies that possibility, then so be it, someone with knowledge, post up. Otherwise, dont act like im asking to get a Herculean answer.

What, its not simple to understand, "what is the max boost you can attain...?"
Then im really asking the wrong crowd as thats the basic of basic questions. But, im done with this thread, all of you have fun with the bullshit still. Like I said, ill email the experts instead of asking the ignorant. |
