Bay area tire shop for RE-11s

Found a nail in one of my rear RE-01s tonight while prepping for Thunderhill this weekend, anyone know a good Bay Area local shop that might carry RE-11s?

I'm in the south bay, but I can stop anywhere along the drive to Thunderhill for them if it means good service or a decent price.

Thanks.

I like 4 Your Wheelz in Santa Clara. Frank, the owner, is a track guy and owns a E90 M3. If you tell him you need it for a track day coming up he will likely do his best to try and get a tire for you in time. You can always get the tire shipped there from Tire Rack (they arrive quick from their Reno depot). Their install prices are reasonable ($20/tire if you supply the tire or $15/tire if you buy from them). Their alignments are also reasonable (under $100 I think).

Thanks for the recommendation, I ended up just biting the bullet and tracking down a spare set of wheels to mount R888s on.

I'm going to plug my RE-01R for now but I'll keep these guys in mind when they eventually come off.

R888 are a much better option. That is what I run at track/autox.

If you are looking for RE-01, they do not make them any more. You would have to see if any are still out there probably using Craigslist. RE-11 are new and can be found anywhere.

Yeah the R888s should be much more fun, if you don't mind me asking what alignment specs do you run with yours?

Before I had camber plates I ran whatever camber I could get up front (which was about -0.5) with 0 toe. On the rear I ran -1.0 camber with a touch of toe in (about 1/16"). The stock camber is about -1.5 rear but dialing a bit out allowed the rear to rotate a bit easier which is nice for autox but maybe not so nice at the track.

I installed Vorschlag camber plates last month on my stock springs/shocks. On the rear I put back some of the camber so it is now -1.5 (with 1/16" toe in). For the fronts I run -1.4 with 1/16" toe in on the street. For track/autox I push the plates all the way in which give me an additional -1.0 (for -2.4 total). I probably have a touch toe out at that point.

Adding camber to this car made a huge difference in its ability to turn in without pushing. It stlll does push but no where near as much now.

Yep, camber plates are my next mod, tires temps on the outside were much higher than the inside, and the tires show visible signs of running out of camber.

Thanks for all the info.
