M3dragon - Light 1M build thread
I finally started the build on my 1M. This will be a light build compared to my M3 as it is the DD car as well as out of the box it is pretty much the way I want it.
This weekend I finally got around to installing the following parts after sitting in my office for about four months.
Some feedback on the installs before getting to the parts. The Burger Tuning catch can was straight forward however their instructions were not quite right about the reducer part to the can. Was able to find a easy fix so if you install it be warned that you need to figure out a reducer to the in side of the can. Second the ER Charger pipe is about ¼ to long for a stellar fit when using a AA sport intercooler. It works and fits in there but the end needs to be about ¼ less from what I see for a better streamlined flow. Third the AA Sport intercooler needs a little cutting which is not that bad, however issue not mentioned is the center most front under tray screw cannot be reinstalled. As the intercooler sits lower the clip that would be there for the screw has to be removed in order to install it. There are a tone of other screws holding the under trays on so this is not an issue. The panels also are a smidge off but with some fighting you can make all the screw line up. The tear down begins All the parts ready to be put in. AFE intake to be installed Parts removed ER Charger Pipe Old intercooler Working on getting a set of Maddad mid pips, essieman sport muffler, BMW Black Kindeys, IND black side markers, BMW rear spolier, wheel spacers, and rez motto rear diffuser.

Very nice - I was wondering when you would start.
I love your e46. Hopefully see you at the drive next month. |

M3 is almost done. It is off for interior now and once I get it back I can break in the gears and cams. So 1M is going out for one more drive on March 9th.
The new parts on the 1M definitely make it feel faster. I get a fun intake noise at well which was a surprise.

Not sure if this is a interesting update here but what the heck why not. I am a certified pilot and flying is my first love, with cars a close second (in the hobby category) in case the Misses is reading ;-)
Because of my flying background I am working with the Aerospace Museum of CA to setup a charity runway event. I was granted access to the field for a safety inspection and test runs. Lets say a open airfield with new mods and a WOOSSSHHHHHH intake sound is rather fun =)

So not a "parts update" but still a fun update.
Misses went out for her first track day on Mar 16th at Thunder Hill. Meet a fellow 1M member from the forums here. I only got to do a few hot laps as the car was feeling off as the tires were a little roughed up. PSS no like track I figured out. Anyway here is a few images of our 1M brother and the Misses at the track.
