i wish i were fortunate enough to have an italian mom in the kitchen pump'n out pasta! heh,

actually my dad is really good at making italian dishes, last week he made home made ravioli with a bolonese meat sauce that took a day to cook. it was awesome.

all italians i've ever met were really sensitive about their pasta. i wonder why...

and when there were more of them in the same room, they kind of grouped together and started comparing recipes, saying how this and that doesn't work because of this and that and soon enough, i felt like i was in the middle of a scene from goodfellas when they have their family reunion...

Its a pride thing. I personally could NEVER do a low carb diet. I tried it once, i wanted to see how long i could last. I made it to 1pm. Then i was over it. Im pretty sure my family would disown me if i told them i was gonna avoid carbs forever.

i know! my ex-friend Angela (i LOVE that name!) whose parents are also first-generation sicilian thought she was getting fat once so she started thinking of ways to loose some. she'd run, she'd stop eating ice-cream, she'd stop eating chocolate, but she just had have her daily portion of pasta. i thought that was really cute.

Hahah that is cute. My mom did the same thing. She still ate her pasta but stopped eating desserts and stuff

Finely dice up some white onions with habaneros and add either sour orange juice (naranja agria) or soy sauce, and yum! goes well with tacos or even a meal with rice.

i never tried it with pineapple juice, but hey, that might be good too.
