DIY - How do I drain/fill antifreeze??
Okay, I read all 17 pages of DIY. Redline hooked me up with all the fluids and 1Addicts the DIY instructions complete with pics. The car (2008 135i 6-speed w/36k) is out of warranty and I'm tired of paying $120 for an oil change...So I started with the easy knuckle-busting stuff. Change the a/c filter (Mann), the air filter (K&N), the oil and filter (Mann) and as the car was now cooler, ready to do the antifreeze. WTF? Lots of hoses that look like they are for the intercooler etc but no drain-cock? The tranny and diff are next, thanks 1Addicts! OH... if somebody knows where I can get a downloadable service manual please let me know.

In this thread, they briefly talk about where the petcock valve is, which is on the bottom of the radiator, but the factory FMIC is in the way, so I think (I don't know for sure) you have to remove the FMIC to get at it.
Thread: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=589983 hope it helps

According to Harold at HPautowerks you have to drop the intercooler to access the drain cock. Check the threads on 135i cooling which is still active. Hope this helps |

It's not hard just time consuming. Remove under undertray plate(16 8mm)bolts. Remove plastic strip under ft. bumper (10 screws).Pull clips that connect factory hoses to intercooler. Remove 2 screws holding intercooler to car. Hope this helps.
