Question ECU Tuning: Accessport possible for 135i??

Would an accessport type device be possible for the 135i?

http://www.cobbtuning.com/info/?ID=4357

This thing is INCREDIBLE! And cheap too!

Tell me about it. My last 3 performance turbo vehicles were an '04 WRX, '05 Legacy GT and an '05 STi. I had Cobb APs for all of them. They just plain worked and were cheap. Super smooth power delivery, tons of maps and all controllable by the user...
I soon realized I got spoiled by the AP. Truly unique.

I contacted Cobb about a year ago and have a friend that works with them semi-regularly (he's a tuner) and last I heard, there were no intentions of developing anything for our cars.

I've been meaning to give them a call again; however, they've gotten pretty involved in the GT-R community (Trey Cobb owns one).

I think our best bet for a custom tune is going to be the cp-e Standback system... If it's capable of doing what AMS is looking for in tuning their turbo upgrade(s), it should be plenty capable for basic bolt-ons.

x2 on getting spoiled I had a 05 WRX wagon as a DD for a while, the Cobb AP was a simply great device...

It's a shame most of the tuning for the N54 is of the "piggyback" variety. Subaru/VW/Audis have been changing the ECU programming on the fly via the diagnostic port for years. It sounds like GIAC may be the first to have this available for our cars.

Yes GIAC is using FlashLoader but they are still in the stages of us having to take it to a GIAC licensed shop to flash.

Maybe one day we will be able to use a hand-held loader such as the AP. I certainly enjoyed mine enough to buy both v1 and v2 for my '04 STi.

There are probably thousands of owners that either dont live near a GIAC outlet or dont want to bring their car in for various reasons. I am one of them. A flash-loader for use at home would sell to this market easily.
