2007 120I Electrical issue

Hi folks,

I have an 07 120I that recently got hit in the rear by another car. Only minor cosmetic damage and had it repaired under insurance.

They repaired and painted the rear bumper and the tailgate.

Picked it up and the repair/paint looked great, but about a week later the reverse sensor not working light came on dash. Went way at times and came back at others.

2 days later the whole dash started lighting up and flashing randomly a few times for a few seconds then went back to normal and then it happened again yesterday and after it stopped flashing and i parked, the stereo didn't turn after i took key out and left car so had to turn it off with the power button.

Get in the car later that day and drive off, lights on dash go crazy again for a few seconds and then stop and now the reverse sensors do not work but the fault symbol on dash does not come up and the whole stereo head unit has lost power.


i imagine it has to be all related to them possibly damaging a wire or causing a short when they have removed the bumper and tailgate but have no idea where to start with fault finding.

Any help would be much appreciated.
