Can anyone tell me...

I was in the Blockbuster parking lot today and some guy pulls up in an e46.......335ci.

Yes, I went up close and looked at the badge, and it read "335ci."

The wheels were "M-badged."

So, what the heck was it? A Dinan upgrade or something?

I must say that the "335ci" badge looked absolutely genuine.

Someone linked from E90Post to elsewhere (sorry cannot remember where) about a very adventureous peson who changed his e46 engine, drivetrain, brakes & exhaust etc over for an M3 engine etc from what was a wrecked car.

He had lots of pics etc. I think he rebadged it as a 335.

You never know, maybe it was him.

There are a decent number of people in the E46 world who have installed stroker kits to take their car up to 3.2l or 3.5l (one notable 3.5l stroker is from Racing Dynamics aka RDSport) So what you may have seen was a 3.5l I6 stroker. Of course as we all know there are a decent number of posers too who play with badges alot. But posers usually put on M3 badges instead of messing with the numbers, so it could have really been a 3.5l e46 and the owner was just being a little more subtle by changing only his badges to 335ci.

You need to take a few pics for evidence next time you see it. Then we can deliberate even further. We just might have a few CSI guys here to figure the truth about this suspected 335ci.

Hey did it look anything like this pic below?

Yes, it was a originally a 323 that he rebadged to 332 because of the M powertrain that he swapped in.

wanna swap? Rouge Engineering out of NJ is awsome at it. They have done several engine swaps in E46 sedan and coupe from original engine to M3 engines and powertrain. I wanna stick the 10 cyl m5 engine into my car
