2009 1 series intro date

Does anybody have definitive information from BMW as to the introduction date of the 2009 1 series?

Please only definitive "real" information.

BMW is introducing this as a 2008 model – obviously current year.
Typically BMW assigns the next year’s designation to mid year introductions.
Following this logic, buyers not only will be paying MSRP plus a big MF but will absorb twelve months’ depreciation in 5-6 months.
I welcome any corrections.
Otherwise I am reminded of a phrase containing a reference to fools and their money.
