Horse Without a Rider :'( My 2009 BMW 135i
Called my dealer and to my relief my car had finally arrived at the dealer and is in an awaiting to be prepped status until I return from North Carolina. I am really glad they sent me some photos to keep me sane, lol.
Unfortunately, it will be another two weeks to a month until I meet my "stallion." So my horse is without a rider for the moment and is patiently waiting for me at BMW of Honolulu's stable. I am going to try and see if I can attach some photos for you guys. Its been a long 4 months and now another one to go, but you guys through your comments, info, know how, and photos have helped me get through the agonizing wait. Can't wait to join you on those open roads. :headbang:

If you'd like, I'll volunteer to fly over there and put some break-in miles on it so you don't have to waste time babying it when you get home.

MY 100TH POST (YAY!!!) Well, now for some good news, though a few weeks time it will only get better. Just called my dealer to find out the odometer reads only 6 miles, not bad considering the shipping terminal isn't very far from the dealership to begin with, less than a 10-15 minute drive with traffic factored in. I also ordered some wheel locks for it, not anything amazing, but I don't want to see some crackhead rolling my wheels away, lol. My CA will be sending me more pics of my little Bavarian stallion tonight so I will post them either later tonight as I get them or tomorrow afternoon after my course ends for the day. Again thanks all you guys for keeping me sane, though drooling was one of the side effects after seeing are your cars in stock and modded form. Berk, you're 1 is amazing, its cool to see guys like you turn bring these little hot rods to the track where you can further prove that "big things come in small packages." Don't worry in two years time I will be back on the mainland and roaming "the open plains" with all of you. Now get back on the saddle and show that thing whose boss!

As promised the new photos my CA promised me. They aren't that great, but somethings better than nothing. I kind of wish my CA had the dealership photographer do the shots, but oh well. :iono:

As promised here are the pics from my new 135i I picked it up early Sunday afternoon after coming back from a long 5,000 mile flight, lol. But the excitement kept me energized for that day. When I picked it up it had 9 miles, so not bad and they did a good job detailing it. The stories of the brake dust are true, its now day three and I washed the wheels during my lunch break, not that bad, took about ten minutes to get it done thoroughly. I have to say I have received nothing but compliments on this beauty. A guy in an NSX parked right next to me and I caught him gazing at it as I was returning from the store. So far a Cayman and an Audi have tried to be "playful" on the roads with me, but I am not going to engage in such nonsense, I'll save it for the Time Attack near the airport one weekend This car seriously is very angry under 60. It really wants to strut its stuff and its amazing that I haven't exceeded 5,000 rpm (as I am not supposed to anyway) yet it really feels just so full of power and energy and the suspension and brakes are just amazing. I seriously love this car! :wub:I was very pleased to see a Montego Blue 135i parked at work as well this Monday. If you know who I am talking about, make yourself known Thank you again guys for all your knowledge, support, and help. This is by far the best forum out there. Now I am going to get back in my car and take it for a ride :headbang:

I seriously love this car!!! I get nothing but compliments (though there always the few that try to pick it apart, but I don't mind them). Personally I like the car because of its small dimensions, its very easy to park and isn't much bigger dimensionally than a Mini. I also love the power, it always seems lively, it never feels like its trying, it is like its just lounging waiting for me to make it sweat, but it seems to just maintain its composure as if saying "Is this all you got?" I truly love this car, its a dream come true! The details that went into the design of this car continue to amaze me.

Oh, it's been almost two months since I bought mine and I'm still get all giddy every time I look at it. I've never had a car have this kind of affect on me, and I can see you're going to be the same.
Beautiful car, congrats and welcome to your new obsession! Oh yeah, and be prepared to have lots of women waving and smiling at you now. P.S. I'm really jealous of how warm it looks there. The days of wearing short-sleeved shirts outside seem like a distant memory now... |

Yo Novator,
Congrats on your new baby. Nothing like having a new set of wheels, and to have be a 1er is even better.

Since my 1er was my Christmas present to myself I thought it would be nice to give it a present for being such a wonderful car. Thanks to the Hawaiian weather improvement I woke up bright and early and gave it a thorough cleaning. Started off with Meguiar's Car Wash and then moved to a Meguiar's 3 Stage Clean and Wax. Started with the Paint Cleaner, then the High Gloss, and finally with the Carnauba Wax. At first I was a little worried, but after each step the car was looking like the day I rolled it off the dealership lot (mind you which was only less than two weeks ago). I have driven it nearly 400 miles now since I picked it up 12 days ago and I take it out for a cruise every chance I get, I can't wait to break in the engine to see what this car can really do. I remember the day I went to pick it up I saw an SCCA sanctioned Time Attack event taking place near the Punchbowl. I know both me and my 1er are excited and anxious to take part, but we both need to exercise some patience. I hope all of you guys are loving, riding, and taking care of your 1ers for Christmas, I know I did and it returned the favor with a big smile on my face
