Confused about HPA's suspension bits
I was looking at all these pieces and trying to figure out which stock component they replaced...
#1 Front Control Arm Kit #2 Upper Rear Control Arms #3 Rear Guide Rod Kit #4 Rear Upper Link Kit #5 Rear Toe Control Arms #6 M3 Rear Lower Camber Link I have these pictures that i got off alldata... ^^Front Suspension^^ IMG1 ^^Rear Suspension^^ IMG2 *edit* if it helps, here is what alldata calls the items in question. Item 14 - Trailing Arm Item 15 - Control Arm Item 16 - Control Arm Item 17 - Control Arm Item 18 - Lateral Stabilizer Rod *end edit* So basically, it looks to me... The Front Control Arm Kit (#1) Replaces items 10 and 12 in IMG1. The Rear Lower Camber Link (#6) Replaces item 17 in IMG2. but all the other parts in between... these are all the ones i need help with. In alldata, the item# in the picture hyperlinks to the part, but none of them are called the same name as they are on HPA's site. Also, for the M3 Camber link, since im running KW's, I cant run this part? I would really appreciate it of someone could fill in the gaps for me. Thanks! I was actually trying to sort this all out myself. 10 and 12 are in fact the front kit, which can be bought individually at the front tension arm and front lower wishbone.
I took it as the velocity control arms was a combo of 15 and 16, and i *think* the upper guide rod is 15 while the upper link is 16 or vice versa. I don't know if any of the above replaces the 18 "track bar", or perhaps the upper link or guide rod is 16 and 18 with the other being 15, or some combo of the above is how i took it. I think the velocity toe arm is the 14 trailing arm. 17 is the easy one as the M3 rear camber link kit. I'm pretty sure under the STU rules, i can only do 17, or instead replace 15 and 16, but pretty sure i can never touch 14, not sure about 18. |

#3 Rear Guide rod is #15 in the lower picture #4 Rear Upper Link is #16 in the lower picture #5 Rear Toe Control arm is #18 in the lower picture. The M3 version of this will not fit the 1 series, so HPA sells the Velocity arms that do fit. So for #15 and #16, you can use the M3 parts OR the Velocity parts. Does that make sense now?

In the rear, you can only do #17 for STU. You cannot replace the other arms since they don't control the camber.

In the process of putting together the rear too. Is it true that the VM upper links cause noise and are not rcmded for daily drivers? Was told to do M3 uppers and Velcoity lower.

No one is going to know HPA suspension parts better than HPA, why not pick up the phone and give us a call or shoot us an email?
