I don't like using my 135i for commuting. I drive 35+ miles each way and probably 25 miles of that is highway. But on the highway its a banner day if I can spend more than a couple miles at the speed limit. The rest is stop and go poking along. Seems like waste of miles on my 135i. I couldn't imagine if I owned a Porsche or something like that. Would seem like a major waste.

53. I have a BSM 135is with DCT. My first BMW except for the 2013 X3 I bought my girlfriend. That is her dream car. My last car was 2008 911 Turbo manual. Before that a 2007 Cayman S manual. I have a 33 mile commute with some back twisty roads and low traffic. The 135is has been a blast to drive. This is a very fun car on the curves. I am glad I got one before they quit making them. I don't know how long I will keep it, but I sure am loving the car now.

35, first BMW, second car. Drove my 5 year old daughter to Kindergarten in the snow today, she loves drifting around the suburban side street corners. I tend to keep my cars long, unlike most. Use this daily/track/autox. Couldn't be happier, as an all rounder, the 135i is hard to beat.

The REALLY old fart

I'm in my late sixties and a Bimmer owner since a new '85' 325I. My 2011 135I is the 6th and has / will never see rain or snow BUT occasional track. Was on the fence to go Z4 or 135.... Grand kids really made the decision, The oldest is counting until she can drive.

I'm 25 now bought it last year, it's my fair weather car sees minimal rain or snow. I have two saabs that I'm currently enjoy driving as well. I drive mostly back roads which can get very rough so the suspension of the 135 is a great balance for me.

It's my 2nd bmw after my m roadster crash

43. Owned my 2011 135 vert for going on 6 months, just got our first 3-5" of snow. But it melted before I got a chance to drive in anything but slush, which was fine. Love, love, love this car, absolutely.

25 and I'm on my second 128. I bought my first one in April 2011 it was a cpo 09 jet black with 24k and it was totaled 9/19/13 I then bought a 09 Monaco blue with sport/premium package with 50k on it. I don't have much of a commute to work(15 min) so I find every excuse I can to drive somewhere.

27, bought the 135i 4 months ago.

Wanted something that seats 4, can drive the VP's around in (I'm a Software Dev Manager) and is stupid fast under 30k. Hence the FBO n54.

Coming from a 1.15G '94 miata, the BMW handles like garbage. Let's hope the m3 suspension and 275 RE11 square setup fixes that in the spring.

I'm 66, retired for the last 7 years and, surprisingly, not the only old fart here. I've had many cool cars including an E46 M3, 3 Dodge Vipers including a supercharged 700 HP beast, Audi S4 and on and on. I was shopping for an M3 when I test drove my 135. Most of the mods were completed by the prior owner, also my age, and I loved the car. My wife came along for the test drive and she loved it. It's almost as fast as a Viper and so much more comfortable and fun to drive. I've owned the car for 9 mos now and it is the best car I've ever owned. One day I expect it will be a car I wished I'd never sold.

That was one of my gripes when I lived in MI. House was the second off a somewhat main road, so I had the pleasure of waking up 2 hours early to shovel a path to get on the main road.

You'll learn to love it. (ha, I kid)

There's a lot to be discovered in Canadia, enjoy!

Bought mine a few months ago new, one of only a very few 6MT cars in the country at the time. Drove it not only off the lot, but out the showroom! That was a tight squeeze for my first time driving the car! Got 5k miles on the car now, love it.

You can always go backwards. Things were very good for a long period of time for BMW(1971-2001), so there are a lot of good cars to own. Maintenance and engineering was very similar in that time period.

I bought my 135i back in January a month after retiring from the government.
I was 58 with 37 years of service. The last 20 years as a PCB designer.

I came from an A4 Quattro.
So now if the weather is that bad I just stay home

So far after 16,000 km, I have nothing but praise for the 1er.

Yeah, I thought about looking for a clean, low mileage M3, but I might go with a Porsche Cayman instead.

09+ only for the Cayman. Pre '09 has all the 996 RMS/IMS issues. New one is sadly EPS.

I did not realize they switched to EPS. Well, I guess I need to really drive one and see how it feels first.

23, purchased my 135is at the age of 22. Previous car was a Honda Civic Si Sedan, my commute to work is anywhere between 28-90 miles a day depending on where i am. I love the car every second i drive it.

EPS doesn't have to suck. My RX-8 had it and it was excellent in terms of feedback, resistance, etc.
