Adding A2DP bluetooth device
Hello all,
I'm a brand new proud owner of a 2009 135i with iDrive and navigation. Unless I'm mistaken, this car doesn't support a2dp streaming from phones. I have used devices like this Transit in my 540i and Mini Cooper. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005XUEMK6 It connects between the radio receiver and the antenna. Basically, using the proper adapter, you connect the antenna into this, and this into the radio receiver. It works really well. My question is does any know know if something like this is doable in the 135 w/ iDrive? If so, do I look in the dash for the antenna connector or somewhere else? For my 540i, it was in the trunk. I've seen things like this, also: http://smile.amazon.com/Patuoxun-Blu.../dp/B00GZGQBTM which seems like a good fallback plan, but i like the idea of having it more integrated... I apologize if this has been asked and answered. I looked in the FAQ and didn't see anything. I also did a search and didn't see anything. Thanks Last edited by brosell; 04-09-2015 at 09:04 PM.. Im desperately looking for a wireless solution that shows song data and allows the use of steering wheel controls. I think some people have had success with the tune2air WMA1000, which I am considering. This is also pretty interesting...

The tune2air WMA1000 looks intersting. I think I have the ipod kit for the car...
The transit doesn't interface with the car controls at all. So you'll be using the phone for that. I just ordered the Patuoxun unit. It's cheap enough. I'll report back. |

I went ahead and bought this. Tune2air WMA1000
It actually works really well! Plugs into the factory y-cable and steering wheel controls work and song data is displayed. So far I really like it. |

Have you tried that with an android phone?
This thing: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GZGQBTM works reasonably well for the price, but the audio is not the greatest. |

I use tune2air
http://www.amazon.com/ViseeO-Tune2ai...words=tune2air Be warned, it worked with my Iphone 4, 4s, and 5 flawlessly. Once I got the 6, it would sync but I couldn't control it with the steering wheel anymore and it no longer displayed the song name. Just says "track not found". Still plays though.

Not sure why mine isn't hooking up then. Other than that, it was working great.

You'll need to get a ComBox. They only come with 2011+ models, but you can get a retrofit for about $450 as I was quoted from BimmerRetrofits. I've yet to pull the trigger. As $500+ just for bluetooth streaming is a bit much (tax + you have to buy the cables and a bluetooth antenna adapter).
You'll also need a software update once you've got the ComBox installed. Some more info here: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...30&postcount=8 |
