need a better interface
As you all know, the bmw radio interface is ugly and useless, especially when using USB with an IPod. Without replacing the unit, what can I do about getting a better interface, someone mentioned to me a parrot Bluetooth with USB, any other suggestions?

Replace it with a double din touch screen unit if you want, it's been done before.

this company in germany makes a face plate for e82 double din. http://www.janus-design.net/english/...-din/index.php
there's a cheaper faceplate on ebay but that puts the climate controls above the radio and doesn't look as good imho. |

I've recently been looking as well. I like the Janus one, but my E82 has the separate controls for the heated seats, so it appears that it will not work for me.
I've been looking for a good double din as well and think I'll give the Pioneer SPH-DA120 a try. It looks to have a decent integration for the Iphone (I sold my soul). I'm only worried about what happens when the stock radio is removed. In very preliminary research I hear that the 135i (Non Idrive) have a requirement for the stock radio and make the use of an aftermarket radio problematic. |
