Performance Steering Wheel questions!
Hello fellas,
Today I went ahead and purchased a new, and one of the few performance steering wheels with LED's left! I'm very excited, but a few questions come to mind. I heard that any car that comes stock with the sport/M-tech steering wheel does not need any software retrofit when installing this wheel. Has anyone had any experience with having this wheel installed if it did not come with the car from factory? I know the instructions mention retrofitting/coding, but I believe they also mention that any car that comes equipped with the sport wheel will not need any programming. All input appreciated and welcome! Thanks! |

I still think you need to have it programmed.

Haha almost! Missing the diffuser, shift knob/boot, and hand brake handle/boot. I don't care at all for the front bumper or side skirts, and maybe one day, just mayyyyybe, the performance seats!

I really want to get that steering wheel if it can be working with my 135 that has DCT. Really hope that the cut-outs for the DCT paddle is the same as in M3s.

they did have those for 08+ M3s with DCT. My friend used to have one but he sold it along with his car last year. I should have bought it off him sigh!

You are correct the sad part is that the steering wheel cannot be ordered anymore, since BMW announced they would engineer and release a second generation this year. Apparently there is no telling as to when it will be ready, and some dealers are claiming that the manufacturing of the second generation has been cancelled. So these are quite rare, and very few are left in stock around the country. Hurry up and try to get your hands on one.
