Kidney Grilles

Decided I want to change the grilles to black on my E87, was wondering if I can buy just the frame in black, instead of the frame & slats, because obviously the slats are already black so no need to have them twice. Thanks!

EDIT: Also would it be clever to just remove the current chrome surround frame and plastidip it black instead of buying a new pair?

Decided to just buy a new grill instead of plastidipping it as dip is quite expensive in the UK

Just one problem, all the grilles I find on eBay have the 'eyebrow' on the top, I can't seem to find any which are the same as OEM but with a black surround

If you haven't already bought them, take the chrome surround off, rough it up with some red scotch brute, then hit it with a couple coats of flat black. Did mine last night and it came out excellent.

Thanks, but I would prefer to either keep the original part as it is or be able to remove the paint (plastidip) I'm just gonna buy the OEM performance grill from BMW as it's not much more expensive than the Chinese made ones on eBay.

Thanks for the tip though!
