Song names truncated?
I believe I'd tried searching as much as possible...
I have my iPod attached to my 2009 iDrive and have quite a few track/album names that are longer than the display can show. The problem is that out of those long names, some truncate the name with ellipsis (...) but others truncate the name with a '001' or similar. I took a picture to explain:  I haven't been able to figure it out based on testing. All tracks were encoded with the same encoder: MP3, ID3v2.3, etc. Can't understand why some work and other don't. Any hints, or is it just another iDrive bug? Thanks. |

I have the exact same problem, except that I'm using a USB drive instead of an iPod. It hasn't bothered me enough for me to find out why.

I have never seen that on my idrive. I almost always stay in split screen mode on mine, so the songs are almost always truncated. I believe they always have the ellipsis. I've definitely never seen the '001'. I've always secretly wished the songs scrolled so you could see the whole name...oh well.

iDrive is always so buggy.... how big is the test team at BMW? i'd love to lend a hand in the development!
my fathers always locks up when he first turns on the car... its ridiculous... I was hoping the new version (pictured above) would fix this... obviously not... |
