Front & Rear Stock Rims

I just got winters put on stock rims. Is there any way to tell the wider rear rims from the fronts? Is there some sort of designation on the rim? I just want to make sure my installer did not mistakenly put the wrong rims in the wrong spot. My tires are all the same size by the way. Thanks in advance!

well your rear wheels (assuming you have the standard 135i 18" wheels) will have more concavity to them. Meaning as you look at the face the hub is farther "inset" on the rears.

Beyond that, since the rear wheel is wider the sidewall on your tire might look slightly more stretched.

You could also take a picture and we'd probably be able to tell you.

All the relevant wheel dimensions are stamped on the back of the mounting face.

Good call, I forgot about that...

If the wheels are already mounted to the car, finding those specs might be a problem.

I was concerned about the same issue but it is easy to tell the front from the rears.

i dont think a rear wheel can be mounted on the front without a spacer.

hey if you dont mind me asking how much did it cost you per wheel to have it mounted?

i have gone to about 12 different tireshops over the last few days and once they found out i was doing 255 35 r18's they would come to me and say its going to cost extra
then when i would tell them the stock wheels are runflats and then they would tell me that they cant do the job because it would break they're tools... was very annoying having to wait so long in lines then to just find out they cant even do it...
one shop said 100 per tire but my rims would get scratched and i would have to sign off on that... so i ended up calling bmw and making a appointment with them. i had first done one of them online apps for bmw and had asked about prices and what not but they did not reply... thats why i went to other shops in town..

just wondering what it should cost to have this done.

and i dont understand how a shop can say its going to take hours to do two tires...
when i have mounted and balanced tires in the passed and it does not take more then 15 minutes a tire...

but yeah.

once again what was the cost per tire if you dont mind sharing.

thanks.

try advmotors.com located in coquitlam.
They have a high end machine (same as the Ferrari dealer) that works perfectly and the rate they charge is $25 per wheel mounted and balanced.

Used them many times, great service.
