BMW Performance Shift Kit

I am thinking about ordering the bmw performance short shift kit. What are your opinions on this kit? Also how much would I expect to pay for installation at a dealer vs. independent shop.

Thanks.

I had the SSK installed on my 135i before delivery. I was charged nothing for intallation as it was part of my purchase order. Money well spent.

well keep in mind, BMW will only warranty their Perf products IF installed at a BMW dealership.

I was quoted 2 hrs at 150/hr ..but them again my engine and transmission are already sitting on the floor ...try and bargain with the dealership that's what I'm going to do, they already said they'd price match the tischer bmw sale.

Good to know, I was going to order one. I don't need a large reduction in shift travel, but the stock one is a bit long. I'm going to have to think on this one for a while...

...is the BMW Performance Short Shift kit a noticable difference?

I've got one on my car and the difference is pretty noticeable. It's been a while sense I used the stock shifter, but it made a big difference and I would highly recommend it. Also unlike some of the other options you get quite a bit with this kit (nob, boot, lever, and the arm thing or whatever it's called).
