Recommendations on a square 17’’ wheel setup for the track

Can you please help me with a question about wheel fitment for a square 17'' wheel setup?

I would like to try and run square set up of Apex ACR-8 17x8.5’’ ET40.
With 245/40/17 street tires front and back. This would be for track use.

Would this work? Given that I have M3 front and rear control arms.
Dinan camber plates. About -2 degrees up front.
Stock- shocks/springs, ride height, and brakes.
Do I need to use spacers?
Do I need to roll fenders?

I currently have Apex EC-7 18x8.5 ET45 fronts and 18x9.5 ET58 rears.
With 235 wide fronts and 265 rears. No rubbing with this setup.

The fitment aspect depends entirely on which tire you buy. If its for track use, then you are going to want proper track tires than can handle the heat. If you get tires intended for autocross and use them on the track, you will have a difficult time when they are overheated and slippery. The situation will be worse if you are limited to a 245 tire on the rear of the car.

What I would like to try next for the track are Bridgestone RE-11A 245/40/17 square. The past few HPDE's I used Nitto NT05 225/40/18 fronts and 245/40/18 rears. These are affordable ok tires. But I want to step up a little bit in tire quailty and wider fronts for more cornering grip and speed.

I'm not ready yet for and a long ways away from a tire like Toyo R888, let alone a full R compond racing slick.

I run these exact wheels.

You may not have enough camber up front. You "may" fit because you don't need a spacer to clear the front strut. I run -3.6* up front on ET35 and fit. Rear I run -2* to make the wheels fit.

I have my fronts and rears rolled.

I personally run Hankook RS3s. I've ran Dunlop Z2s in the same size.

I'd avoid the RE-11a if I were you.
