Best size for winter wheels???

I know it is early to be asking this question... But what would the best size wheels and tyres be for the 1M??? I don't think it will be getting used very much over the winter.. But if I needed to use it , would be good to know that I could..... I just don't know if I should go 18" or 19"????
What is your set up and how do they perform?? We don't get much snow but when we do everything comes to a stop!! Would be gratefull of some advice.... Thanks.

I would go for something like the 18" m3 wheels. These wheels look good on the 1M. You may have seen my car in the Peak District/Ace cafe shots recently. There is a set up on ebay at the moment - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-M3-E92...item3f265a0c25

18" is more appropriate for winter wheels on the 1M. The larger, the worse in winter.

Though, if you choose 19", you got the benefit that you can swap alloys and tires. Actually, I did it earlier this year: put my summer tires on my winter alloys (BBS CH-R). My stock alloys (359M) are from now on my winter wheels.

That's a very good price - The tyres alone would pretty much come to that. Glad I could be of service - but now that means I won't be the only 1M in the UK with these wheels

Your personal experience does not make the facts untrue.

The narrower the wheel, the better traction in snow. Have you seen the wheel width of ice racers machines?

Tire technology today has come a long way, and that is likely why wider wheels are usable in snow, but narrower still is better.
