Fittment!!!

Hey guys, I'm getting Apex-Arc8 soon and a little bit confuse about tires.
I'm getting Front: 18x8.5 ET45 and Rear: 18x9.5 ET62. My car is in stock, nothing's done yet and M-sport package. And would Front: 235/35/18 and Rear: 255/35/18 fit perfectly??? I don't wanna damage my fender or rolling it. Please please any idea???

You could use a 245/35 in the front and 265/35 rear. Smaller just means more stretch.

Are you willing to roll and pull your fenders some? You can fit 275 in back easily with Arc-8, and 255 up front if you're willing to play with negative camber and maybe small spacers. If you're willing to pull a fair amount you could stick 285 in back.

With those offsets on a stock car you are gonna have to be more careful up front than in the rear. It's possible that just the front wheel will rub you strut. If not, you'll only have a mm or two to spare. So any tire that is wider than the wheel will make this not work. For example I'm sure a Michelin PSS 235 would stick out past that front 8.5 inch wheel and likely require you to use a spacer. Then with a spacer you might occasionally rub the fender on big bumps. Camber will fix this fender issue.

I'd get 225 fr, 255 rear Michelin PSS's.

Stock tire size on the 8.5 rear wheel is a 245/35 and even with PSS's the tire isn't square to the wheel. A friend of mine is running 255/35 up front with the Apex Arc 8's, Fenders rolled and pulled. No rubbing. A 245 is an easy fit.

I have the same wheels, and also completely stock 128i sport suspension, which is the same as the 135i suspension.

I have Michelin Pilot SS 235/40-18 and 275/35-18 F/R with a 5mm spacer in rear. I get no rubbing, and I like the way the taller tires close some of the wheel gap. I didn't need the 5mm rear spacer, but wanted a flush look. Also, the 235/40 fronts have almost zero room between the tire and strut, but no rub.

If you don't want any modifications, I believe this is the widest setup you could go with, which was my goal.

i'd prefer 235/40 and 265/35, cause i have similar width on my m3 in stock
8.5 235 and 9.5 265.
with michelin pss both front and rear looks only little stretched.

I run 255/35/18 front and 275/35/18 rear PSS on the ARC-8's without any significant issues.

It's VERY tight and there is some rubbing on the driver's side rear inner wheel liner.

I only have my alignment pins removed in front to get a tough of extra camber.

I previously had 235/40/18 and 265/35/18 Z1 Starspecs without the alignment pins removed and those were fine as well. Fronts could just touch on a really bad bump, but I even autocrossed it like this and the only real issue was bad outside wear on the fronts simply due to lack of camber (and trying to autocross it like that).

YMMV.

Hoonig, I'm sure Bimtism appreciates the help. Do you plan to help him when his 245 tires rub? And what does 245 in the front accomplish if you don't plan to track your car.

Black128 has the best idea since he for sure has the same setup and as he mention, 235 PSSs will have like 1mm to spare in that setup. If Bimtism is not planning to track his car and doesn't want to run a spacer, then a 235 tire is as wide as he should initially try, and to play it safe he probably should go it a 225.

He can do whatever he wants. IF he doesn't plan on tracking the car then OE sizes would do just as well. Why even upgrade at all?

I'm only going to use those setup on track. Not for daily driving. So I'm not going to get wheel spacers and fender works. Too much money! LOL I would just go for 235/35/18 and 255/35/18

Exactly

I have the same question about offset with 18x8.5 or 18x8 front and 18x9.5 rear. It seems as though when you ask what you need for the 235 and 255, everyone gives their opinion about a different size tire. Inbox me if you find out the wheel information about those specific size tires.

Thanks!
