For me, $2000 for a tune is out of the question. In your case there are bigger gains to be had if you're getting 35killerwasps at the crank, but it still seems expensive unfortunately.

Well as I said in my reply to andrews post; I was just guessing about prices as we have not much else to go on.
It obviously sounds as though they have no interest in doing tunes for the n52 and I have no interest in making anyone do it. Its weird, I must of been coming to this forum for about 15 months before I first joined and posted; and I seem to remember many 125 owners complaining that nothing was available. But now....all quiet except for me (as far as the 125), and its getting a bit too weird for my liking. Anyway, hope it goes well at marranos. Last edited by Drawn05; 02-04-2011 at 07:09 PM.. |

First up, Sonny at Marranos was great and he seems real knowledgable. There were 4 holdens in the workshop alongside an E55, ML63 and E60 5series engine unknown.
He got the power out of that E46 I mentioned earlier by doing intake mods, full exhaust system (headers back) and a tune. His tune is based off the powerchip but he does custom tuning on it to suit the engine. Whilst I'm sure he can get 30w+ out of my car, here comes the issue which is the $ and it's out of my budget. I was hoping to spend $1500-2000 on tune/freer flowing exhaust but it would of been well above that. Looks like I'll now try an 'off the shelf' tune either AA or OE and get an exhaust shop to make up some 2 x 2.25inch piping for me and add in some high flow cats. Put me down for that OE group buy and I'll try rally up some other N52 equipped E9Xs |

I would be pretty interested in a tune offering 130i power / torque figures. My ideal car would be a 130i coupe rather than a choice between 125i or 135i. Always want what I can't have!

Ok, so I have the prices back from Jeremy at OE Tuning.
Price per Kit is US$395 with US$50 for postage. (Aus Dollar is currently 1.01). Please PM me or post here if you are interested in this. If you want more details about the tune, there are plenty of posts over in the US section of these forums and feel free to contact OE Tuning yourself (I have no affiliation with them, just trying to get a tune). That said, I do not mind passing on any questions about the tune or the process to Jeremy if it helps some make a decision. So to recap: -We need at least 5 people wanting to buy the tune -Comes with the EZ Flash module (you dont need to send you ECU overseas) -Its for the 128i and should take advantage of our 3 stage intake manifolds -Dynos listed in other threads and on their website are with 91 AKI (95 RON Fuel) Maybe I should start a new thread in the group buy section. Edit: bmroxm5, the 2.5l 325 was sold as the 323i in canada, I saw Viral post on the other threads that they might have something for it soon, but I dont know if OE tuning would also have a 323 tune. I will ask him and let you know. Last edited by Drawn05; 02-07-2011 at 06:00 PM.. |

MY2008.
US version - no 3 stage intake manifold Aus/Euro version - 3 stage intake manifold. They have different airfilters too! US uses a panel, whereas Aus/Euro uses a cone style. |

Well, on their website they offer a tune for the e60 525i which uses the same engine and DME, claiming about a 10kw increase. I would think a version for the 325i 2.5l would be easy for them, but I will see what he says.

Nasty. Arent piggybacks like the BMS stuff more of an easier solution for n54 owners (from what I have read anyway)?
The ESS stuff seems to be the least mentioned on the US threads. |
