Hard to believe.
As you say, your Bro-in-Law works for Audi, so he must know what he's talking about, and I would think that the 1-er, in person, looks like no other Bimmer model. You'll have to get more info, and tell your b-i-l to start carrying a camera. |

he said he didnt see it in person. He saw the official yet-to-be released photos. i mean that would mean that bmw's competitor audi would already know what the car looks like. if what he says is true then these audi isnt playing around.

Your Bro-n-law should share his bounty with the world! I've suspected BMW knows what Audi is doing and vice-versa. Kind of a "Good Sheperd" spy thing? Scott or Eni would know much more about this kind of stuff-maybe Harold too... Remember Scott's post about the 1-er being photoed in San Francisco 2 weeks ago and they (BMW) had permits issued with the city of SF as an "Audi" television commercial? The whole thing seems incestuous. |

I do not think it is possible that they seen the car without disguise unless it was either on the USA or Sydney , Australia photo and film shoots - Which have been completed with both cars back in Munich.
When I was on the M3 presentation shoots of the Melbourne Red car in South Africa , immediately after the main shoot in Dubai for the main presentation film. We did come head to head with Audi who were shooting the A5 and S5 Coupe in South Africa the same time we were shooting the M3. which turned out the way I envisioned. Currently a Alpine white M3 and M6 are in Valencia being photographed alongside the Carbon Fibre hull of the BMW oracle racing yacht. As BMW amp up the lightweight technology and efficient dynamics angle on the M division cars... The 1er Coupe will undergo final location film and photography in Munich and then it will get it's studio shots completed. The time is really ticking away now to it's debut which will not be long... |

Secondly, how come all this lightweight dynamics ended up in an M3 that weighs 85kg more than the old one ? (despite a carbon roof, engine 15kg lighter etc etc) ;-) Thirdly, how long till the M1 / M2 surfaces ? Looking forward to a truly (reasonably) lightweight ///M with a screaming 6 pot. (but will it be able to make enough BHP without a turbo, i.e. lots more than the 135ti ?). Surely the 1 won't get the V8 ? |

I honestly take Scotts word over the Audi Employee's.-even though he said that there will be no 135i. i told him there WILL. we've got a bet going. Even if there is no 135i, i dont think a the 3.0 265hp will suffice as the top of the line motor for this series so there should be some sort of legitimate M.

I dont know if you get MotorTrend magazine over in the UK, but last months issue said likely engines will be a 140hp, 170hp, 4cylinders and the 265hp 3.0 being at the top. its pure speculation on there part but im curious to why they didnt even enterain the idea of the 135. :iono:
