Nice. I have never seen one for the E90 330. I'm glad I dumped the oil at 1301 miles and again recently at 8500.

SixBanger, you should be fine considering that in the service booklet, it lists Mobil1 5W-40 as one of the approved oils. (The only other approved oil in the service manual is Mobil1 5W-30)

I'm still on the fence if I will change mine @ 1,500 and send a sample to Blackstone. I may stretch it out to 2000-3000 miles.

The "BMW" or Castrol one needed is 5W-30
The Mobil 1 approved one is the 0W-40 one

Unless you have owned the car for one year or have had the oil change indicator come on in your car you are going to pay through the nose for an oil service at the dealer. I would recommend finding a reputable shop in your area or doing it yourself.

if there was no 4 year maintenance warranty included on new bmw's, how often do you think they would recomend to get oil changes and other things done.

Based on that test I wonder how BMW can only recommend changing the oil once a year? Clearly the oil needs changing about twice a year. Changing the oil directions in the DIY forum?

I am at 11k miles and haven't gotten one yet. I think I will wait until it hits 15k. I did add two quarts of oil since I got the car though and did not have any problems..
