Question Firm Brake Pedal

Newer 135i owner here - I'm experiencing a firm brake pedal on startup. Just started happening about a week ago. I enter the vehicle - put my foot on the pedal and it's very firm until I start up the vehicle - then it goes away. Any ideas??

Normal. Will be firm until the engine vacuum is applied to the brake booster.

That could be as well. The check valve on the booster may be leaking.

This is new - wasn't an issue for the first few months. Any ideas on repair options?
