So, in a config w/o wireless, the outer two exhaust tips are non-functional? Just dummy tips for show?

Nope. It may seem that way as Akra lists the part #s separately, but as it turns out it is for their own "internal cataloguing purposes" and they will not sell you a system without the tips. I know, would've been great to just buy the M3 black tips for $40 each and call it a day

That was what I was told, but 100% confirmation will come when the systems land in the US.

///M1 is right. You can not buy either the evolution or the slip-on without buying the tips as well.

Well, from looking at their website, it seems like if you buy either the slip-on or evolution w/o the valve, theres some sort of blocking plate installed. This could easily be replaced by a valve at any point if the owner wants it to be installed later on. This is to me both postitive and negative.

First, it's great that you can buy it w/o first, and then make a complementary installation if necessary.

But, this also probably means that the tip furthest to the left is not used in the "w/o valve mode" in standard config, how does this effect performance?

And, I talked to the agent for Akrapovic here in Sweden, he said 100 systems are already pre-booked! And, what else, well he also told that BMW has looked at the systems and APPROVED THEM FOR SALE IN BMW AD'S! That rarely occurs!

I'm currently looking at the evolution w/o valve, so if someone reads this and own a car with that setup, please tape it and write what you think!

If the block-off plate is installed in place of the valve, it would mean BOTH outer exhaust tips are rendered non-functional and for show only.

Switching the downpipes, won´t be needed an ECU tuning? And the turbo lag, won´t increase?

I just want polished tips like stock. I am sure there is a way to polished the titanium.

No need. Just trying to avoid any confusion as it may be difficult to see the routing in the pics.

AD=Authorized dealer. But lets just call it a BMW dealer. In other words - I can go in to the dealer that sold me my brand new 1M and get the Akrapovic exhaust aswell. Pretty neat

Just found this on Youtube... (oops a little late apparently)

I think this allows us to hear the wireless system the best.

It made my spine tingle the first time I heard it lol.

I really want this now!

Guys, you really need to hear this exhaust in person. This clip does not represent the real thing. The sound is beyond amazing When in bypass mode it is very civilized, but when the button on the wireless kit is pressed (it switches from blue to red ) it's like "the devil got loose"....

I think the owner might be on this forum and hopefully he'll chime in

I'm here :-)
I'll try to record something this weekend or early next week; I will meet with another 1M, which is still stock. So stock vs "white" vs "red". I just hope to find somebody with the necessary audio-video gear otherwise my smartphone has to do the trick.

Hi, I have evolution system with valves kit and I absolutely recommend that option. I think it is a must for DD. Completely open valves might be too loud for DD. It is great to have those incredible sounds when you want them but sometimes as DD you seek for more quieter ride. If your 1M is track purpose car; then you’re better off. The default option is “white”, so it is cumbersome pressing the button every time, while it is hided bellow the arm rest (in 12V plug at non-smoker cars).

Why would turbo lag increase? Anytime you free up the exhaust system on a turbo car you reduce turbo lag. Mainly this is done with downpipes.
