I gotta try to talk to Status Motors and see when they can get me more vinyl. I don't want to have to order another 100 foot roll. I hope they will send me just what I need to finish and a little extra in case I have to replace a panel or two. They are located in Canada, and shipping takes a while, but I will see what I can do. I hope to have it done by June 7th.

Matte really makes the curves & BMW's chris bangled( i think he called them fire licks) lines stand out vs paint.

Hey
Hey Status Lab doesnt sell this wrap in less than a roll. Was at their shop yesterday, and i'm friends with him and he wouldnt give me less than 30meters)
So if you want,i am buying a roll this week. And i can sell you just 7-8meters (25ft or so) for your front bumper.Since i only need 22m and the roll is 30m. Talk with Status Lab,but they wownt sell this wrap in small quantities. If you are interested, send me a email at sotimihi2003@hotmail.com,i am getting the wrap in a day or so from status lab Last edited by Nestea69; 05-29-2012 at 10:17 AM.. Reason: Didnt see his post |

I don't know if Status Lab is the same as the company I'm talking about. The color is very unique and would need to match perfect. This one being your first post is somewhat strange. Give me some more information.

There is only one status lab in vancouver canada,i was a customer of his before he even opened his business and he uses my cars as an example for his customers.
He only has one pearl colour, which is the one you have...i've been waiting for pearl red for over 3months now but no news yet,so im going with blue. And i am on bimmer forums not on 1series forums since i have a 5 and a 3. I saw your post on the web while searching for cars in pearl matte blue. How many yards did you buy from him anyway? You must've made a lot of mistakes to run out of wrap for such a small car... Last edited by Nestea69; 05-29-2012 at 01:26 PM.. Reason: For show |

Quote:
I just saw a 1M that is roughly the same color, but his isn't pearl, and I'm not sure if it's a wrap It's okay to copy and technically you aren't copying, because you have different wheels Quote:
I bought 100 feet... It was my first wrap, and at first I sucked at it. I wasted about 35 feet on mistakes... most really weren't actual mistakes, and knowing what I know now I would have been able to save it. I would love to get some vinyl from you that you don't need. I will shoot you an email.

I recently broke my bumper in half cause of a rock on the road and 1.5cm ground clearance so i bought a new M3 bumper, which will get here in 2weeks so if you want some wrap to finish your car sooner than that, toss me a email and we will work something out.(my car is matte baby blue atm)
And btw,the first one to use this pearl matte blue is a guy with a Nissan GTR from vancouver. |

Front bumper is done!
When I went to check with some people about getting the front bumper wrapped, they told me it would be about $400, so I decided to take it on myself. I told them I was trying to do it all in one piece, and they told me that there was no way, even for a professional to do that. They said front bumpers are always pieced together with seams. So, I decided to take a stab at it, and I'm fairly happy with how it turned out. In the photos it's hard to see any seams. In person you can see them, but you have to be looking really close. Either way, it's not a bid deal. I don't think wrap can ever be perfect. I'm just happy it's done, just in time for the European Auto Show on Sunday and Flat Out in Topeka, KS next weekend.
Total time: Roughly 50 hours, give or take, now that I have experience, probably would be able to shave about 10 hours off that. Total cost: $750 Would I do it again: Yes, it was actually a lot of fun, and the results are incredible. Everyone that sees it loves it. Materials and Tools List: - 100 x 5 foot roll of vinyl, air release, from Status Motors (ebay) aka Status Lab - Measuring tape - Heat gun w/ extension cord - Xacto knife - Felt-tipped squeegee - Stiffer plastic squeegee - Lots of microfiber cloths - Rubbing alcohol - Grease and Tar remove - Latex gloves - Soap and water - Masking tape - Electrical tape Thanks for following!!! More professional photos to come... all photos so far, believe it or not, courtesy of iPhone, haha...

Wow! It turned out even better than I expected. Nice job! Can't wait to see this in person. Hopefully I'll be able to make it down to a cars & coffee soon.
Oh really? Come out to the sticks and do mine! I could use a new color to go with my new wheels (whenever they show up). Matte black, matte green, or matte purple would look nice...
