If you intend on supercharging the M3, definitely go for the M3, if not I'd get the 1M

Thank you all for your interesting feed back, This is a really hard choice as i love both cars they are special in there own ways, one is a bare bones cowboy car the other is a refined sports tourer.

I have a great interest to continue on with the BMW turbo market there is still a long way to go and a lot more power to find .

With this in mind my next purchase will be the 1M.

Hey PAV are we still friends

Nice Pete, I've got a 1M and I'd recommend a TTRS lol, sub 4s would be a cinch.

yes just over 2 years and 23k kms. maybe it is generous as i got offered 80k trade value with no mods on a new 991 c2s, but i kept it as a track car for now and traded the wifes car instead. have you investigated trading yours, could be as good as selling?

lalalalala i can't hear you! already have too much on my plate haha

worlds first AWD 135i? definitely leaving that to someone else.. would definitely be pretty damn cool.

C'mon mate, you know that's not true.

There's heaps of other people who also don't like you!

On a serious note, I know you can take a joke, but if you like I can delete this, as it's not meant as a personal attack. Just a laugh. I enjoy your banter around here, it brightens things up.

Looking forward to seeing the 1M develop Peter.

I would also have looked at a TTRS or a Cayman S Turbo for that kind of money. It's great to have options!

Until now I only considered the TTRS as a VW Golf with an extra cylinder and different styling. I think it hard to consider it in the same discussion as a Cayman S.

I've test driven the new Cayman S. Epic in both manual and PDK (driven both). Love it.

Only drawbacks are:
1) Cost of options. Sports exhaust + LSD (mandatory suspension package) are a ripoff.
2) Not very good in terms of $/kW ratio.

Further to the above:
M cars from what I've been reading of late are more AMG-esque (being big heavy tail happy brawlers). Hopefully we see some more lightweight sports car characteristics in the M4 and the potential M2.

I'd buy a Cayman S in a heartbeat if it had backseats.

Back on topic, I think the 1M makes most sense Pete if you are looking to showcase what Advan can do.

Then again, an M3 can be just as effective except in more subtle packaging.

I guess it all depends on what you want to drive around in. They're both great cars.
