JB+ questions for 1M guys

So I have been looking at the JB4/Cobb stuff lately and I got to thinking. I know the JB4 and Cobb set a maximum number for the boost based on the program you choose. Well....since the the 1M is already set to a higher boost pressure from the factory wouldnt adding something much cheaper like the JB+ or SSTT for another 2psi do the same thing? It seems since it is so easy to plug and play that for 100$ it would be the perfect addition. Anyone?

To put it simply, there is much more that goes into software tuning than boost. Some companies will make more power than others, using lower boost, due to properly calibrated air/fuel ratios, ignition timing, etc.

Our software is currently the only one available which re-calibrates the entire DME, giving you factory levels of drivability and reliability while allowing your ECU to maintain all of the engine's parameters. Not to mention, we are making more power than anyone else I have set to see (keep in mind that this is a Mustang dyno on 91 octane):

Well, the JB+ plugs directly into the TMAP sensor. It plays with what the car "thinks" its current altitude is, which then would modify the calculated air density and what the car sets the fuel metering and boost targets to (if I'm remembering correctly). Since it's doing the same thing in the 1M, I'd think that it would work. What is the stock boost for the 1M? Something like 9 psi and then 12 with overboost? The JB+ adds up to 4 or 5 psi (at 50% its +2.75 psi) usable all the time. I don't see why it wouldn't work, especially since the JB4 works, unmodified, on a 1M. But I could be wrong.

I think I saw literature with boost close to 12 (0.8 bar) without the overboost and I think with was 1 bar which is 14.5psi.

Papethova speaks the truth.

I called burger tuning, they said the 1m requires more than a standard JB, he called it a flash type. Doesn't sound right though, I'm thinking he huh ought maybe it had a N55 or something. Doesn't matter though either way. I'm running an EPIC tune currently, just wanted something easier to remove.

Ahh I see. The JB4 boosts close to 14.5 and seems to make more power than the short overboost does (I think), but I guess it also plays with the timing and other parameters. Thank you for clearing that up.

Weird, considering nothing burger makes it a flash tune haha. If Terry says no, though, then it's a no. I was just speculating and being optimistic
