I have to Part with my Baby

Not sure this is the right forum but it's a Canadian car...

I've accepted a new job in the US and it doesn't seem to make sense to pay to import my 135 when the equivalent car is much cheaper there. So I'm planning to sell mine here and replace after I move. Believe me, this is a painful decision.

So... For sale: 2008 135 Coupe. Canadian. Monaco Blue, Black Leather, Gl. All options except Nav and Prem Sound. Premium, Comfort, and M-Sport packages. USB integration. Winter floor and luggage mats, 3M. Also includes extended warantee for seven years.

Delivered May 22, 2008. Currently 5300 km. $53,000 ($5k less than I paid). Located in Calgary.

Please PM if you are interested.

Sorry to hear that. I'd be interested, but color isn't my choice. Best of luck with the sale

Why can't you bring it to the states? Shouldn't be to much different between it and an American spec one....I would do that instead of selling and then buying again. I know I can take my American spec one to Germany and register it without making any type of mod....

I'd never do that... cars in the US are WAY cheaper, even if he takes a 5K hit on the price, He could buy the exact same car in the US for 10-12K cheaper. Tough break dude, I just came back from working in the US, if you need any Tax or other advice PM me, as I work as a professional chartered accountant.

I would do this... (remember this is me)

I would drive my 1 down there till the new 1 comes in!

I would order the new 09 with nav cause being new to USA it will come in handy... check out what it can do! CD songs to HD, save full trips on nav, find destination on your computer and then email it to your car etc... The screen is hot... Anyway, that's me...

Each to his own!

Q: will you get the same options when down there? If you are going to a place with a warm winter would you get a vert? I would. Again that's me.

I would order pretty much the same car. That's kind of amazimg because I ordered this one last January before I had seen a 1 in person. So most of my ordering decisions were made from the salesman's descriptions!
I don't need the nav here but it would be useful in a new city. I might switch to the Terra seats as I like the "two-tone" with the black dash. Other than that, the same car.

Yup, good decision. Also not that it's that important, when you order your replacement, remember their packages are slighly different, don't make too many assumptions. Too bad you will miss out on the leather book. LOL (unless you buy an 08)

Where are you moving to? The vert is really nice if you will be in Cali, or likewise. As for selling it, I doubt you will have any probs at all. You should be able to get quite close to what you paid for it.

I did this..I was in the opposite situation..I had a leased 330 and moved back to Toronto from VA (Virginia). I drove it here (carefully) until the lease was up..although GEICO insurance did cover me in Canada as well. You should see if you can get insurance in the US. I dont believe they asked me for alot of documentation..I personally would not take the financial hit. Espressoboy has a good idea...buy a new 135 in a few years and import back to Canada (if you plan on coming back...)

Good Luck :w00t:!

LMAO, you'd toned down a bit on the posts. glad to see the force is in you once more.

on a more serious note, I'd go with espressoboy's recommendations. you have a great car already, enjoy it for a bit, and take advantage of the cheaper 1s in 2009 or 2010.

Yeah it's nice having Yoda here... He loves my espresso too. Ever see yoda on an OD of espresso? It's not pretty... Maybe it's time I did a youtube video of what goes on here...
