I'll try to take some more. But you can't go wrong with either...19s or 18s suit the look of the car. 18s will ride smoother given you get more sidewall on the tire.

Finally got them on, was only able to take a quick iPhone picture, the winters make it look a little boaty with how high profile they are but oh well... Also going to have to replace that ugly center cap with a nice BMW one
EDIT: Finally switched the caps and she's looking gorgeous Last edited by HomeIsToronto; 12-14-2016 at 05:32 PM.. |

Wheels: Moda Eb1 18*8+45 all four corners
Tires: General Gmax As-03 Front: 225/40/18 Rear: 255/35/18 Suspension: Stock MSport suspension Other: No fender rolling, no spacers, no rubbing clears front suspension by about .5", and the rears have plenty of room. Only have a pic of the rear as I myself was curious about the fitment of a 255 on an 8" wheel, worked out well.. Last edited by Accrual_World; 05-15-2017 at 01:11 PM.. Reason: Mistaken Offset |

Well this is what I'm going to do, just to see if it will work.
A little background, I ran a square 235/40r18 setup of Goodyear F1 Asymmetric 2's with the same basic suspension setup and 18x8 et 40 wheels. The only difference was that I used H&R Sport Springs that came as a kit with the Konis and never had any rubbing or poke issues over 15k miles and 10-12 autocross days. Square set up: Tires: 265/40-18 Hankook Ventus R-S3 Version 2 (V222) Wheels: Alzor Style 020-10 18x9 ET42 Suspension: Koni Yellows BMW OE Non-Sport Springs (BMW 128i Vert) M3 (TRW) Front Control Arms (Tension & Wishbone) Dinan Fixed Camber Plates 5mm Spacers if needed (I think there will be rubbing in the inner front). There will be poke in front but not sure about fender rub. I get the wonder(fully) cheap ECS Tuning housebrand wheels this week and will mount them with the R-S3's ASAP.

Ok, so I've been looking for wheels for a while now. I'm interested in running a 225 and an 8.5 to 9 inch up front and a 255 and 9.5-10 inch out back. I'm struggling with figuring out the best offsets to run as a balance between "the look" and not having any issues. I have a 2011 128 sport pack. I got the car used, it looks like it has had the fenders rolled and might be on lowering springs. haven't been able to get under it to have a look.
At any rate what kind of offset should i be looking for with what size wheel, the best I'm coming up with is 18x8.5 et35-45 and 18x9.5 et45-60. Does a 18x9 et40 fit with a 225 up front? what about a 18x10 et55 out back with a 255? any info would be incredibly helpful. Many Thanks. Derek |

1. Several people have already documented fitting 255/35-18 and 255/40-17 on 9" square wheels and that is supposedly the maximum that can be fitted 2. The aforementioned setups required adjustable camber plates (~-3 deg) and fender modifications for optimized stack height and fender/spring perch/strut tube clearance, even then, it is very close 3. In contrast, you have an even wider and taller tire, and less possible camber (I was maxed out at -2.2 with dinan plates, not sure if M3 arms are a viable camber adder in the way they change geometry). Also, I don't know where the spring is on the setup you have, though you want the shortest spring possible for maximum width tire, especially for one as square as an RS3. I'd love for you to put my concerns to ease but everything known about the given working setups really don't work in your favor

Pre-install pics of wheels attached to front passenger side-no spacer. Obviosuly I'll need a spacer to clear the strut tube---the caliper is real close too (w/335i conversion in front). Wheels weigh 22.6 lbs a piece. Last edited by zapatista; 02-27-2017 at 04:37 AM.. |

I have my eye on a set of wheels 18x9+38 18x10+40. any thoughts on fitting these on a 128 sport pack? the plan is to run a 225 and a 255 but i wouldn't be to upset about switching to a 215 and a 245 if there is cause for it. From what i have read though this post they should fit under the car without touching the fenders or the struts but I'm not sure if the rubber will hit the fenders or not.
Note, these are 3 piece wheels and i could tweak the backspacing and size if i had to. Thanks Derek |
