VMR 710 or VMR 713 and fitment questions.
#1) VMR 710 or VMR 713
#2) What fitment should I go with for 18 rims? My 135is has the stock MSport Suspension. However, I am upgrading to the BMW Performance Suspension. #3) Front: 18x8.5 ET45 with 225/40/18 Tires? I think the 225/40/18 front tires might be too narrow on the 8.5 inch wide VMR rim. Those same sized tires (MPSS) sit are on the stock rims which are 7.5 inches wide. Can I go with 235/40/18 on the fronts with out any fender modifications? #4) Rear: 18x9.5 ET50 with 255/35/18 Tires? I think the 255/35/18 rear tires might be too narrow on the 9.5 inch wide VMR rim. Those same tires (MPSS) sit are on the stock rims which are 8.5 inches wide. Can I go with 265/35/18 on the rears with out any fender modifications? Please chime in VMR.

1. Your choice
2. Depends what you are trying to achieve. If you are going square then 18 x 8.5 ET45. 3. 225/40 on 8.5 is fine and within tire recommendations. You can fit 235/40 MPSS on 8.5 ET45 wheels with a little extra camber. I have been running this combo for the last 2 years with BMWP springs and Dinan camber plates. Camber was -1.5. I just moved to 245/35-18 in front with no issues. I do not have any fender rolling or pulling or other mods. 4. 255/35 on 9.5 is within spec for the tires too. Both 225 on 8.5 and 255 on 9.5 are on the minimum width wheel sizes so it will look fine. Just know that there won't really be any wheel protection from the tires. Take the time and run through the sticky and you'll get answers to most any questions on fitment. http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=216413 |

Ex. PSS 255/35/18 minimum width is 8.5", max is 10" http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....SSXL&tab=Sizes Or Michelin's own site, identical data: http://www.michelinman.com/tire-sele...ails#techspecs Same goes for the RE-11, Dunlop Z2, and any number of other popular sport tires. Max on a 18x9.5" is typically 275/35/18, but even some 285/30/18 are rated as 8.5" to 11". I stand corrected. I must have misread the numbers when looking at Tire rack. it is still in spec though according to their site so to the OP it is fine

2) Most go with (F) 8.5 ET45 (R) 9.5 ET45/50 3) 8.5 + 225/40/18 still falls within recommended rim width range via the tire manufacturer. It may not be as "meaty" as some desire, however, it is still within safe specs. We do have some customers who run 235s up front, though with a bit of modification. Keep in mind, Michelin PSS are known to run just slightly larger than their advertised size 4) We have some customers who run ET50 with 255/35/18s and have NO rubbing. In other cases, some do run into clearance issues. It is a bit dependent on your ride height and alignment/camber settings. If you wanted to run 265s without issue, I'd recommended the Flow-Formed 18" V810 in 18x9.5 ET58. The high offset was designed specifically for our 1er crowd and is also a bit lighter than the V710.
