I'll weigh the removed parts (seat cushion and back) one of these days, but I'm guessing around 30-40 lbs.

Looks great,

If it's a weight reduction program, have you considered removing the child seat tether eyelets (torx140), and seat back latches (with cables and handles in the trunk)? Cause a minor esthetic challenge, but an easy 2 lb weight reduction.

I've considered that and may eventually do it. However, at the moment my plan is to leave that stuff in so it remains possible to quickly re-install the back seat.

Cage, seat and harnesses when it become a dedicated track car instead of a daily driver/weekend track car.

stroker the n54 while you are at it - 3.4L TT, and add the GTS brembo brakes and light weight rear glass, steering wheel, trim and armrest delete.

What did you use? Wood to build the frame and factory carpet to wrap it? Looks great. Very clean.

I'd consider fabricating an X brace and sticking it in there, Niel. My understanding is that the rear seatback contributes a little to torsional rigidity. I'm sure a removable X brace with some heim joints/ pins to grab the seat hinges and latches could beat the stock seats significantly. Worth thinking about, anyway...
