Intermittent longer than usual cranks
I noticed that I am getting intermittent longer cranks when starting the car. Also noticed that, withmy key fob, there are times that I cannot open the convertible top. I can close it with the key fob all the time but not open it all the time. It seems like it could be a battery issue because after I drive it, the key fob seems to work to open the top again.
I do have a 2011 135i MSport Convert with CA. Do you think it is the battery? Would the car display any message for a battery issue? |

That might be a misnomer... I know there's a service bulletin -- not sure about recall.

that could also mean the starter is dragging or the battery is low. The firs tcould be warranty the other not so much unless you are within your initial warranty

There is a service bulleting for stalling, but I don't think long cranks were mentioned. Search the forum for SIB 12-09-12. Looks like it might be time for a visit to your local dealer. |

I'm also having this problem. Recently it's taken a tiny bit longer to start maybe once a week. Then it took about a second to turn over after work today.

I have a 2011 N55 which had the HPFP replaced under warranty, though I did think there was some lit. concerning a warranty extension for this unit... no?
