Look what I did

I was born into the metric system so this works much better for me.

So how come your car still shows MPG and miles? I thought it would be metric all the way

The units used in the car can be set. If you have iDrive, you can just say "units" and that would bring you to a menu setting the units for temperature and etc. Don't know how to do that without iDrive but I guess that could be done.

Mine in also set to use degree Celcius since I was also born outside US and I am more used to that. The measurement units can also be changed between kilometres and miles. I did the km switch once but it was confusing as 99.9% of the road signs here have miles only. Also it seems that the setting is stored in individual key fobs. So the car uses Farenheit when my wife drives it.

Many English units are actually very easy to use, I prefer miles to km because if you say you are going 120 mph then it's pretty damn fast but if you say you are going 200 kmph then I have no idea how fast you are REALLY going, I know it's fast but that's it.

But for temps I much prefer Celsius, 0 is freezing, 30 is hot, clear and simple.
