Can anyone tell me if it is possible to remove the centre console trim for wrapping without removing the entire centre console?

I've read the tutorials & it looks like a lot of work just to get two pieces of trim out. Is it not possible to just remove the shifter boot & unclip and lift out both pieces of trim from there? I know the ash tray piece may be a little fiddly being clipped under the front bezel & requiring the ash tray power to be disconnected.

Am I missing something with it being so complicated. Thoughts?

There are two screws that have to be removed and the only way to get to them is to remove the center console. Now you really don't have to remove the center console completely out of the car. You just have to unbolt it and be able to kind of move it side to side to access those two screws that holds the trim pieces. That is what I did.

It's actually really easy to remove the console. But yes, if you do what rocketpop said then you can remove the pieces without taking out the entire console. But you've already got everything undone by that point, so might as well just take it all the way out.

I just removed my console over the weekend and I took my time making sure I did it right with the DIY in my hand. It took me no more than an hr to remove the console.

I was really nervous about it also. I just took my time and went slow. Turned out to be not so hard.

Thanks for the vote of confidence guys. Are these the two best tutorials to run through the process?

http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=213833

Many of these show a manual, non iDrive and non cigarette lighter trim car. Mine is a Steptronic with iDrive and front cigarette lighter so I imagine I may have a few extra steps/cables to unplug.

I wonder if there is a wrapping specialist in Brisbane that would be prepared to take on this 'small' job for me...
