Paint chip repair

Wondering if anybody here has a magic bullet for simple paint chip repair? A pen, a paste, something? The little bottle of touch-up paint from the dealer has never done me well.

I'm not big into touch up paint. It highlights the spots much more when the car is detailed.

Another vote for Dr. Colorchip. We use it quite a bit at the shop when clients need touchup and it greatly improves the look without leaving the typical blob of paint. I'm currently testing a couple of other kits, but so far no reason to stop using Dr Colorchip.

For a very quick solution, those clearcoat touchup pens that can be picked up at a car parts store work fine to improve the look of light scratches. They will however leave a light excess on the surface, so you have to decide which looks worse.
